John Marker

January 16, 1961 — September 4, 2020

Marker, John W., age 59 of Franklin passed away unexpectedly on September 4, 2020. He was born in Dayton, OH to Eldon and Charlene (Wickline) Marker, graduated in 1980 from Miamisburg High School and worked at Carlisle Schools. John worked at Romar Skate Rink for 20 years as a skate guard, he enjoyed camping, and collecting guns and knives. John never knew a stranger, he loved being around his friends and family. John was preceded in death by his brother Bill Marker. He is survived by his parents, his best friend and devoted girlfriend Andrea Thorn, her daughters Jessica Thorn, Megan (Cody) Blackford, and grandson Huxley Blackford who all loved him like a father, and Andrea's father Elmer Briggs. He is also survived by his brother Eddie Marker and his sister Shannon (Rick) Wagner, brother-in-law Chris (Mel) Briggs, sister-in-law Tammy (David) Hanauer, nieces and nephews, Billy Marker, April (Bill) Madson, Cheyenne Wagner, Taylor (Danielle) Briggs, Cameryn Briggs, Keely Briggs, great nieces and nephews Joey and Wesley Madson, Jayce and Lynden Briggs, Caradee Briggs. There will be a graveside service on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 12:30PM at the Germantown Union Cemetery, 11179 W Market St.  Germantown, OH  45327. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00-12:15 at the Arpp, Root & Carter Funeral Home, 29 N Main St. Germantown, OH 45327. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, guests attending are asked to wear masks and follow the 6' social distancing rule.
