Zachary Gekeler

Gekeler, Zachary W. “Minne”, age 20 of Germantown passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016.  He was born to Terry and Andrea (Schrock) Gekeler in Mankato, MN.  Zack graduated from Valley View High School in 2013 where he played football and track.  He loved fishing, four wheeling, hiking, and music.  Zack enjoyed life to the fullest and was always the life of the party.  His quick wit, sarcasm, and smile will be missed by many.  He is preceded in death by his grandmothers F. Susan Poff and Lois Marie Gekeler, and grandfather Preston Schrock.  Along with his parents he is survived by his sister Logan Gekeler (fiancé Seth Carpenter), his grandfather Kenneth (Ralf) Poff, grandfather Marlyn Gekeler (Sue Clayton), his aunt Melissa Phelps, cousins Tyler and Brooklyn Murphy, aunt and uncle Kristine and David Johnson and cousins Cody Yard, Hailey, Presley and Aubrey Johnson, Aunt Kim Christenson and cousins Kelly (Anthony) Ingram, Karissa (Curtis) Berry, Kolten Christenson, and Kelsey Pilaczynski.  Funeral services will be held Saturday February 13, 2016 at 10:00 am at the First Church of God, 760 Farmersville Pike, Germantown OH with Pastor Steve Carney officiating.  Interment immediately following at Germantown Union Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday evening from 4:00-8:00pm at the church.
