William G. (Bill) Hanahan; age 95, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, on his farm in Germantown, OH. He was born on the family farm in Morgan County, TN on October 3rd, 1930, to the late Floyd and Ella Hanahan. He graduated from Clarkrange High School in Clarkrange, TN, and was Vice President of his class. After high school, he moved to Dayton, Ohio, where he worked until he was drafted and joined the Marines. After his stint in the military, he came back to Dayton, where he met and married the love of his life Virginia Dennis on February 20th, 1954. This proved to be one of the best decisions of Bill’s life. In the early years of their marriage, Bill and Virginia (Ginny) had their two boys, Gregory and Douglas, and decided to make a move to the country, purchasing their farm in Germantown in 1961. Bill worked most of his career at NCR, and finished his career as a Tool and Die maker at Dayton Extruded Plastics. During his time at Dayton Extruded, he made many lifelong friendships with coworkers. Bill had an appreciation for the great outdoors, and enjoyed farming, gardening, trap shooting, and porch sitting. Bill was a hard worker who always made his family a priority. He made friends everywhere he went and shared a gentle spirit and a great smile. He loved to stay connected with his many friends in Tennessee, colleagues from work, and all his relatives. He was beloved by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who he never let leave his house without a bag of treats.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Virginia (Ginny) Hanahan, parents Floyd and Ella Hanahan, brother Archie Hanahan, and sister Lorraine Herath. He is survived by his 2 sons Greg (Etta) Hanahan and Doug (Lisa) Hanahan; 5 grandchildren; Kea (Austin) McClure, Clint (Janice) Hanahan, Jennifer (Izaac) Harshberger, Todd (Taylor) Hanahan and Stephanie (Steven) Sullender, 13 great grandchildren; Sadler and Silas McClure, Harper and Wyler Hanahan, Emrick, Claire, Tripp, and Mack Harshberger, Theo, Tatum, and Thomas Hanahan, Anna Grace and Baby Sullender due November 9th; close family friends and special neighbors Randy and Sonia Lake and family.
