Vonda Sue Mullins, a beloved mother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, at Kettering Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 20, 1966, in Dayton, Ohio, Vonda lived a vibrant life marked by dedication, love, and an unyielding optimism that touched all who knew her.
A proud graduate of Miamisburg High School’s class of 1985, Vonda also attended JVS, where she trained in Dental Assisting and Radiology. She devoted many years to her profession at Dr. Mazzotta's dental office, where her commitment and gentle care were deeply felt by colleagues and patients alike. To Vonda, her job was to create smiles.
Vonda was known for her bubbly and optimistic personality, a radiant spirit who approached life with an infectious enthusiasm. Described lovingly as "bossy in a fun way," she brought joy and laughter into every room she entered. Her life truly revolved around her family; she took immense pride and joy in caring for them, placing her role as a mother and grandmother above all else. Her proudest accomplishments were her son, Darren, and her grandchildren whom she adored and supported unwaveringly.
Her passion extended beyond family to simple pleasures such as shopping, dining out, and traveling with her sister JoVon, activities that reflected her zest for life and her desire to experience the world alongside her loved ones.
Vonda is survived by her devoted son, Darren Mullins, and his wife Leidy; her sister, JoVon Smith, and her son Joshua Reed; and her grandchildren, Jack and Jared, who were sources of immense joy to her. Also surviving are her nieces, Lindsey and Frankie. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Eldon and Jo Ann Smith, and her brother, Michael David “Smokey” Smith.
Friends and family are invited to honor Vonda’s memory at a visitation on June 16, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Arpp, Root, Carter Funeral Home, located at 29 N. Main Street, Germantown, Ohio. Following the visitation, a funeral service will begin at 6:00pm at the funeral home.
Vonda Sue Mullins’ legacy is one of warmth, family devotion, and an enduring spirit that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her loss is deeply felt, yet her memory remains a beacon of love and strength for all who loved her.
