V. Eugene "Butch" Kidwell

V. Eugene "Butch" Kidwell, age 85 of Germantown, OH passed away peacefully at home on January 29, 2024. He was born in Germantown, OH to the late Thomas and Della Mae (Phelps) Kidwell, graduated from Germantown High School, class of 1956, and was a proud veteran of the US Marines. Butch retired from NCR after 30 years, he enjoyed playing golf, being outdoors, his daily 4 mile walks and was an avid Valley View football supporter. Most of all, Butch loved his family and spending time with them, he rarely missed an event that his grandchildren were involved in and whenever he had down time, he could be found tinkering around in his garage, because he was a fixer of all things! Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Kidwell in 2007, his brothers Clarence "Lefty", Carrell, and Marvin Kidwell, and his sister Wavie Frances Romans. Butch is survived by his daughters Niccia (Scott) Smith, Cathy (Erik) Blowers, and April Calhoun, his grandchildren Zach Smith, Hannah (Brock) Martin, Jack, Addie, Henry, Sam, and Fletcher Blowers, Jacob, Noah, Matthew and Luke Calhoun, his great granddaughter Briella Martin, and his brother Gary (Linda) Kidwell, and numerous extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. Butch and Sara will be laid to rest together at Germantown Union Cemetery on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 2:00PM where military honors will take place, followed by a committal service. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Saturday, February 17, 2024 3-4pm at the, Arpp, Root and Carter Funeral Home, 29 N Main St. Germantown, with a memorial service beginning at 4:00.
