Theresa Gibbons

Theresa Gibbons, a loving, generous, and kind-hearted woman, passed away on August 8, 2023, at Miami Valley Hospital. She was surrounded by her beloved family during her final moments. Born on April 24, 1950, in Dayton, OH to the late Orville and Flossie Coleman, Theresa led a remarkable life filled with love, compassion, and an unwavering spirit.

She graduated from Northridge High School before attending Carousel Beauty College.  She was a former member of the Redman and Pocahontas organization and she enjoyed bowling, gardening and reading in her spare time.

Adored by many, Theresa will be remembered as a devoted wife to Jerry Gibbons and a loving mother to Joshua Delph, her granddaughter Nellieanamea and stepson Greg Gibbons, and sister to her siblings Rodney Coleman, Sharon Taylor, Sheila Defarbrits, Sue Johnson, Sondra Hartman, Bryan Coleman, Barry Coleman, an additional 9 grandchildren as well as numerous extended family members.

Theresa's capacity for love was boundless as she opened up her home and heart to Chasity Jenkins, Brittany King, and Danielle King—whom she cherished as her own daughters. Her genuine love touched countless lives in profound ways.

Along with her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by her first husband, Terry Delph, and her siblings Ronald Coleman, Victor Coleman, Georgia Anderson.

Theresa's memory will forever remain etched within the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her, let us remember her with fondness and gratitude for the incredible impact she had on all our lives.

Rest peacefully, dear Theresa, you left an undeniable mark on the hearts of all who knew you.

A celebration of life has been scheduled for Friday, August 18, 2023 from 6-8pm at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 1221 Wayne Ave, Dayton OH  45410.
