Sandra Kay Richter

Sandra Kay Richter, known to many as Sandy, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on October 21, 2026, at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. She was born on September 10, 1948, in Auxier, Kentucky.

Sandy was a graduate of Hillsboro High School and worked at Anthem in credentialing for many years. She lived in Germantown for most of her life, where she built a life centered on family, familiarity, and the places and people she loved most. She and her late husband, Archie shared 52 years of marriage, a lasting testament to devotion and partnership.

She enjoyed many simple pleasures that brought color and enjoyment to her days. Sandy liked going to the casino, reading, and traveling, especially to Florida, including Melbourne. Those who knew her will remember a woman with a strong spirit. She was described as stubborn, particular, and a picky eater, and one rehabilitation or nursing home caller memorably described her as a firecracker. That lively nature was part of what made her so unforgettable to the people who loved her.

Above all, Sandy’s family was an important part of her life. She is survived by her children, Todd Richter (Rhonda Mason), Michelle Richter (Freddie Riley), Tracy (Johnna) Richter, and Timothy Richter; her grandchildren, Justin Richter, Spencer Richter, Caleb Richter, Kyle Riley, Kody Riley, Elijah Richter, Bailey Richter, Ian Richter, Tristen Richter, Brendan Richter, and Ethan Richter, and by her siblings, Ernie Baldridge, Nellie Reffitt, and Patty Davidson; her great grandchildren Josephine Richter and Jacob Richter. And the cat Gizmo who adopted Sandy after Archie's passing. Her family will carry forward the memory of her strength, her distinct personality, and the many moments they shared with her.

She was preceded in death by her husband Archie Richter, her grandson, Brett Richter, and by her siblings Floyd Baldridge, Monty Baldridge, Judy Dorman, Betty Roberds, Donnie Baldridge.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Arpp, Root, Carter Funeral Home, 29 N. Main Street, Germantown, OH. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Germantown Union Cemetery, Germantown, OH.
