Rudy D. Dixon

Rudy D. Dixon, age 68 of Germantown, OH passed away unexpectedly on October 9, 2023.  Born on December 21,1954, in West Union, OH to the late Ralph and Ruby (Copeland) Dixon,  Rudy's life was filled with warmth, laughter, and an insatiable love for his family and friends.

Rudy began his journey at Goshen High School, where he graduated with the class of 1973.  Armed with determination and a strong work ethic, he embarked on a distinguished career as an electrician where for over 30 years he worked for at IBEW648 before retiring. Beyond his professional achievements, Rudy was defined by his undying affection for his loved ones. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren and took great pleasure in attending their sporting events and school functions. Rudy's presence during those moments brought an unparalleled sense of pride and joy to both him and his family.

Outside of work and family life, he enjoyed fishing, was an Ohio State football fan, as well as an avid Valley View sports fan. The essence of Rudy's character was his ability to strike up conversations with anyone he encountered. He possessed an infectious charisma that made it seem like he never met a stranger. Whether it was exchanging stories with lifelong friends or engaging in heartfelt conversations with newcomers.

Along with his parents, Rudy was preceded in death by his sister Peggy Sue Pendell and his son in law Wes Root.  Rudy is survived by his wife of 35 years, Janice Dixon, who stood by his side through thick and thin, offering unconditional support and love. His children Brad Dixon, Brent (Nikki) Dixon, Brandon Dixon, and Lisa Root will forever treasure the lessons he taught them about life's importance and the value of family.  He is also survived by his brother Terry (Shirley) Dixon and five grandchildren - Maicie Kenyon, Logan Dixon, Rachel Root, Kennedy Dixon, Maddox Dixon - they all held a very special place in his heart, as well as one great grandson, Mason.

Rudy's passing will leave an undeniable void in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Surrounded by loved ones throughout the years, Rudy leaves behind a cherished circle of family and friends who find solace and strength in their memories of him.  A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 1-5pm at Creekside Acres, 7747 Creek Rd.
