Robert Fields, a beloved man known for his kindness and service, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025, at the age of 98, in Milford, Ohio. Born in Hazard, Kentucky, on March 10, 1927, he lived a full and vibrant life, dedicated to his family, church and community.
Robert had a multifaceted career, spending many years working at a paper factory and as a bicycle repairman in Germantown. He was a dedicated and industrious man, known for his patience and gentle nature. Described as a legend by those who knew him, Robert was always kind, sweet, and service-oriented, embodying the values he cherished throughout his life.
A longtime, faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Germantown, he immersed himself in the life of his community. He enjoyed various hobbies, including squirrel hunting, farming, and even working as a coal miner in his earlier years. His adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors endeared him to many.
Robert was married to his beloved wife, Carolyn O. Fields (Eversole), for an incredible 75 years. Their marriage was a testament to dedication and love, a bond that has left an enduring legacy. He is survived by their children: Roger Gene Fields, Patricia Ann Carter, Joyce (Jerry) McIntosh, and Cathy Ann (Jeff) Mohr. He also cherished his grandchildren, Frankie, Tony, and Jennifer, who often spoke of their grandfather with great affection.
Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife Carolyn, grandson Joshua L. Shortt, granddaughter Tammy Fields, and siblings Coy, Geraldine, and Maggie. He is also survived by his brothers Forest Fields, Fairley Fields, and Lowell Fields, who will remember him fondly as a caring and supportive brother.
A funeral service honoring Robert's life will be held on May 12, 2025, at Arpp, Root, Carter Funeral Home in Germantown, Ohio, starting at 10:00 AM, followed by a graveside service at Butler County Memorial Park in Hamilton at 12:00 PM. Those who knew Robert are invited to pay their respects and celebrate the life of a truly wonderful man who touched so many hearts throughout his journey on this earth. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
