Robert "Dale" Morton, a devoted family man, steadfast church member, and respected community member, while surrounded by family, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026, at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. Born on November 23, 1958, in Middletown, Ohio, Dale lived a life marked by hard work, generosity, and a warm spirit that left an enduring impression on all who knew him.
A proud graduate of Valley View High School’s class of 1977, Dale dedicated over three decades of his career to Myers Poured Concrete Walls and Dalaco. He then continued his service to the community for nearly ten years as a custodian at Carlisle Local Schools. Throughout his professional journey, Dale exhibited a commitment to diligence and integrity that was admired by colleagues and friends alike.
Beyond his work, Dale was a cherished member of Abundant Life Tabernacle in Germantown, Ohio, where he actively served as part of the security team and as an usher. His faith and love for the church were central to his life, reflecting a deep connection to the Lord and his community.
Those who knew Dale best remember him as a man always wearing a big smile, engaging in friendly teasing, and sharing his good-natured spirit. His interests were varied and reflected his zest for life: he enjoyed guns, fishing, gardening, woodworking, spending time in the yard, boating, and watching movies. These hobbies were outlets for his creativity and enthusiasm for the outdoors, qualities that enriched his everyday life.
Family was the cornerstone of Dale’s happiness and pride. He was a loving husband to Paula Morton (nee Lewis) and a devoted father to his son Justin (Tara) Morton and daughter Jaclyn (Josh) Sheldon. His legacy of love and support extends to his treasured grandchildren Hayes, Lily, Charleigh, and Zeke, of whom he was their biggest supporter and active presence in their lives. Dale delighted in family gatherings, where he was renowned as the grillmaster, bringing everyone together with warmth and joy.
He is also survived by his brother Phil (Carol) Morton, and a beloved circle of in-laws including Rick Robinson, Cheryl (Jeff) Shular, Jim Lewis, Sandy (Jeff) Butler, Debbie (Guy) Finch, and Steve (Cherie) Lewis. Dale’s extended family includes many nieces, nephews, and extended relatives, including a special cousin, Fred (Karen) Short, all of whom will carry forward his memory.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Philip D. Morton and Ruth (Powers) Morton, and his sister Karen Robinson. Their memories remain a treasured part of his life’s story.
Visitation for Dale will be held on May 13, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Abundant Life Tabernacle, located at 9440 Eby Rd, Germantown, OH 45327. The funeral service will follow on May 14, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM, also at Abundant Life Tabernacle. Burial to follow at Germantown Union Cemetery.
