Patti S. Hayes

Patti S. Hayes, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter-in-law, and a cherished friend, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, in Germantown, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy battle with ovarian cancer. Born Patti Branin on November 26, 1956, in Red Bank, New Jersey, she carried with her a spirit of kindness, love, and positivity throughout her life.

A graduate of Southwestern High School in Brighton, Illinois, Patti went on to build a successful career and retired from Lexis-Nexis as a global metrics consultant, where her professionalism and dedication were well respected. Those who knew Patti often spoke of her warm personality—she was lovable, kind, and caring, always maintaining a positive outlook. Remarkably, if she was ever angry or upset, nobody ever knew it, a testament to her gentle nature and grace.

Family was at the heart of everything Patti valued. She was very family-oriented and loved her family immensely. Her greatest joys included spending cherished time with her granddaughters Tara and Elaina Hayes, and Addison and Charlee Hayes. She found fulfillment in watching her children, Thomas and Charles, play sports during their younger days. Patti’s interests also embraced watching cooking shows and passionately supporting her favorite teams – the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, and Iowa State Cyclones. She also loved owls, her dogs, and especially the color purple.

Patti was passionate and dedicated to her faith and church family. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her many fond memories of RV camping and visiting the family cabin in Pennsylvania. She was also deeply drawn to the sea, often found enjoying the tranquility and beauty of the ocean.

She is survived by her devoted husband, T. Scott Hayes; her children, Thomas (Kirstyn Claggett) Hayes and Charles (Mallory) Hayes; her beloved granddaughters; her brother Robert Branin and his wife Jutta; and her mother-in-law, Diane Hayes. Patti is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Robert and Martha (Falk) Branin; her sister, Linda Wilson; and her father-in-law, Thomas H. Hayes.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Germantown Methodist Church, located at 525 Farmersville Pike, Germantown, Ohio 45327. The funeral service will follow on Monday, April 20, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM at the church, with burial immediately following at Germantown Union Cemetery.

Patti S. Hayes’s legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to family will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a lasting impression of warmth and positivity that will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by her family and all those whose lives she touched.
