Patricia D. Bell, lovingly known as Pat, passed away on October 1, 2026, in Germantown, Ohio, after a brief illness. She was born on December 31, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan, and lived a long and meaningful life marked by grace, warmth, and devotion to others.
Pat will be remembered as a loving and gracious woman whose sweet spirit touched all who knew her. She was known as a very classy lady, generous in heart and always seeming to have the right words at the right time. She loved gardening and spending time by her swimming pool, and she found joy in creating a welcoming home for family and friends. Pat loved to entertain, decorate, and bake, and those who knew her well will long remember her coconut cream pie, which was said to be the very best.
She also gave of herself generously to her community. Pat volunteered with Reach to Recovery and at Grandview Hospital, where she delivered mail to patient rooms. She was active in the Christian Women's Club, the Garden Club, and the Republican Club. Along with her many interests, she was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, Michigan Wolverine Football, and UD Flyers Basketball.
Family was at the center of Pat’s life, and she leaves behind a large and loving family who will cherish her memory. She is survived by her son Kirk Bell and his wife, LouAnn, of Germantown, Ohio, along with their family: Erin and John Rieder; Nick and Rachael Bell; and great-grandchildren Brayden, Lily, and Drew Bell. She is also survived by her daughter Kimmie Durham and her husband, Jimmy, of Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, and their family: Amy and Trey Golden, Andy and Shaundra Durham, and Jeff and Rachel Durham, as well as four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, all of Georgia.
Pat is further survived by the family of her son Todd Bell and his wife Tammy of Butler Township: and their children Steven and Amanda Buysman, Brian and Lisa Buysman, Tara and Brandon Willoughby, Patricia and Austin Lowe, and Jonathan Bell. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren Kylie Reyes, Neynah Buysman, Steven Buysman III, Oliver Buysman, and Mattias and Henry Willoughby. The love she shared with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren will remain a lasting part of her legacy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Bell; her father, James Arthur Ogle; her mother, Tlytha Elizabeth Ogle; and her sisters, Jean Howard and Martha Freeman.
Pat’s life was one of kindness, hospitality, service, and enduring love for her family. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing her. Pat will be laid to rest next to her husband, John at Dayton National Cemetery during a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Ohio's Hospice.
