Mark D.
Lageson
Aug 25, 1962 — May 31, 2026
Mark D. Lageson, age 63, of Franklin, passed away on May 31, 2026 at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties, surrounded by family, after a short but hard fought battle with cancer. He was born in Fairmont, Minnesota on August 25,1962 to John and Carol (Suserud) Lageson. He was a graduate of Howland High School, class of 1980, where he was an all star baseball player. He was most recently employed by TAC Industries in Springfield, Ohio. He is preceded in death by both parents. He is survived by 2 brothers, Steve (Carol) and Rick (Tina) Lageson, several nieces and nephews, and his beloved cats, Ozymandias and Kevin. He also leaves behind a family of 7 children and 11 grandchildren: Jacqui ((Chris), Julian and Miles) Lawson, Robert ((Caitlyn) Isobel, Zoe, Jackson, and Stella) Lageson, Kelly ((Josh) Jack, Samuel, and Lincoln) Seibert, James Lageson, Bradley Lageson, Ciara ((Zach) Delilah and Emerson Booth) Lageson, Juliana (Zacary) Lageson. He was nicknamed Grandpa Howdy by his first grandchild, Isobel, because he always said, “Howdy Howdy!” whenever she saw him, and it stuck through all 11 kids. He was a diehard (often disappointed) fan of all Minnesota sports teams, especially the Minnesota Vikings. He was an avid concert goer, loved boating on Lake Cumberland, playing guitar, Stephen King books, cheesy scary movies, attending his grandkids games and school performances, and riding his motorcycle. The family will receive friends and family on June 14, 2026 at the Beavercreek Event Center (1585 Grange Hall Rd. Beavercreak, OH 45432) from 3:00-6:00 PM for a celebration of life. Flowers can be sent to 3606 Village Dr, Apt D, Franklin, OH 45005. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the funeral home in his name to help with cremation costs or to the family for the celebration of life.
