Louise Phelps

Phelps, Louise Elizabeth (Smith) age 89 of Germantown passed away peacefully Friday, March 29, 2013 at Lamp Light nursing home in Miamisburg. She was born July 22, 1923 to Orion Sr. and Mary (Schaeffer)Smith in Germantown, OH. Louise was a member of St. John’s UCC of Germantown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Phelps, her parents and two sisters Nellie (Smith) Harris and Virginia (Smith) Mattox. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Sue (Jack) McNabb, sister, Catherine Emrick and brother Orion Smith Jr. (Gerry), granddaughter Hallie (Jason) Addington and great granddaughter Avery, and her extended loving family of nephews and nieces. Following her education at Germantown Schools Louise worked for her sister at Virginia’s Beauty Shoppe, was a waitress at several downtown restaurants, served at St. John’s Church for funeral and Senior dinners and worked at the Valley View lunchroom for over 20 years. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday April 3, 2013 at Arpp & Root Funeral Home, Germantown with the Rev. Richard Luh officiating. Family will greet friends 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 AM (1hr. Prior to service) at the funeral home. Interment will be at Germantown Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. 8050 Hosbrook Rd.
