John Fidler

August 8, 1956 — December 8, 2019

John Steven Fidler "Steve", age 63 of Kettering passed away unexpectedly on December 8, 2019. He was born in Dayton, OH to the late John V. Fidler and Betty L. Fidler (Myers) and worked at Metropolitan Dry Cleaners in Kettering for over 30 years. Steve loved motorcycles and anything to do with cars like Nascar, antique cars, hot rods, and building and collecting model cars. Steve also played the piano and loved to joke around and seemed to always insert inappropriate comments at just the right time, he didn't know a stranger, he loved his family dearly and everyone was his "favorite". Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Eugene Decker. He is survived by wife Shelly Fidler, his daughter Tricia Calvert, his mother Lila Fidler, his step children Dylan Taylor, Miranda Sharp, Michaela Welbaum, his sisters Terri (Clint) Stinson, Kathe Pence, Cheryl Young, and Cyndi (James) Simpkins, granddaughter Lexi Williams, and grandchildren Clair and Oliver Taylor, along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family with a special mention of previous step-children Charity Paynter and Tracey Peters. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Crestview Church of God, 8350 Butter St. Germantown, OH 45327 with Pastor James Simpkins officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 13, 2019 from 5-7 PM at the Arpp, Root & Carter Funeral Home, 29 N. Main St. Germantown. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to the Crestview Church of God in memory of Steve.
