Janet MADDOX

Maddox, Janet (Sloan ) 83,  formerly of Kettering and a resident of Sycamore Glen Health Care Center,  passed away on Wednesday February 8, 2012 at Sycamore Hospital.  She was the daughter of the late Earl Sloan and Helen Lewis Sloan.  She was a graduate of Gratis High School class of 1946 and retired from Miami Valley Hospital.  Janet taught Sunday School and was the song leader at Calvary Full Gospel Church in the 1960’s.   She enjoyed traveling.  She visited Hawaii, the Bahamas, Grand Cayman Island and Israel.  She is survived by her children, Barbara Johnson of Dayton, Cathy Murray (Mark) of Kettering and Richard Michael (Mike) Maddox of Kettering;  grandchildren Michelle Palcic (Dave) of Dallas, TX., Amy Tobias (Don) of Kettering, Matthew Johnson (Rachel) of Kettering and Sarah Murray of Columbus; great grandchildren Hannah (Kaitie) Palcic, Lindsey Palcic and Ava Tobias. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 13, 2012, 11:00 AM at the Arpp & Root Funeral Home, Germantown, OH.  The family will receive friends 10-11 AM Monday  (1 hour prior to the service).  Burial at Woodside Cemetery, Middletown.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
