Jacob Lee Sumpter

Jacob Lee Sumpter, age 32 of Middletown, OH, passed away on April 27, 2025, at Atrium Medical Center. Born on July 6, 1992, in Dayton, OH, Jacob's journey through life was marked by resilience and an unwavering spirit, as he bravely faced a lifelong battle of medical issues.

His intelligence was often wrapped in a delightful stubbornness, and those who had the honor of knowing him embraced his hard-headed nature with admiration. Generosity flowed from Jacob like a melody, always ready to lend a helping hand. He found joy in the little pleasures in life—playing darts, navigating virtual worlds on Xbox, and immersing himself in his favorite rap music, which he listened to throughout the years.

Jacob was not only a cherished friend but also a beloved son, an adoring father, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his parents, Michael and Kandis (Madewell) Sumpter, his son, Jacob Jr., affectionately known as "JJ", his siblings Derek (Amy) Baker, Amanda (Jose) Figueroa, Mike Sumpter, Jr., Dillon Sumpter, nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family members and dear friends.

As we gather to celebrate Jacob's life, we invite all who knew him to join us in remembrance. A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 4 PM to 6 PM at Arpp, Root, Carter Funeral Home, located at 29 N. Main Street, Germantown, OH 45327.  A funeral service will take place on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 11 AM, also at Arpp, Root, Carter Funeral Home, culminating in a graveside service at Germantown Union Cemetery immediately following the service.
