Edward Metcalf

Edward “Ed” S. Metcalf, 78, exhaled his last breath on Earth and inhaled his first breath in Heaven on May 1, 2017. Ed was blessed with a loving family. He married his best friend and beautiful bride, Mary, on August 20, 1961. They had many wonderful adventures and travels during their 55 years of marriage.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Mary; son Edward Metcalf II; daughters Yvette Curtis and Vanessa (William) Hylton; grandchildren Rachael, Ryan (Angel), Kevin (Melissa) and Savannah; several great-grandchildren; brother Ray (Barbara) Metcalf; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son David Adam Metcalf; parents Garfield and Sarah Metcalf; brothers Orville (Ruby) Metcalf and Jack (Linda) Metcalf; sisters Wilma (Ed) Leap, Lois (Lester) Jacobs, and Dean (William) Witt.

Ed will be laid to rest in Germantown Union Cemetery. Services will be held at Arpp and Root Funeral Home in Germantown on May 8, 2017. Visitation will begin at 11 am, followed by funeral services at 12 pm. Opening Prayer will be given by (son-in-law) Rev. William Hylton. Pastor Duane Harney of Community Harvest Church will officiate services.
