Dave E. Martindale

David E. Martindale, a devoted father and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly on May 4, 2025, in Miamisburg, Ohio. Born on October 13, 1954, in Dayton, Ohio, Dave’s life was marked by a steadfast commitment to family and a passion for the simple joys that enriched his days.

A proud graduate of Belmont High School, Dave built a distinguished career at General Electric, dedicating over 30 years to the company before his retirement. His professional life was a testament to his work ethic and unwavering loyalty, qualities that endeared him to colleagues and friends alike.

Though he was a quiet man by nature, those close to Dave knew him as witty and often a smart aleck, delighting in good humor and spirited conversation. He was a big fan of the Green Bay Packers, embodying a spirited enthusiasm that brought joy to many game days.

Dave’s interests extended beyond his career and sports. He held a private pilot’s license for many years, embracing the freedom and challenge of flying with a keen passion. He was equally at home in his workshop, where he enjoyed woodworking and tinkering around in the garage. Riding his motorcycle with friends and reading were other pursuits that spoke to his curiosity and love of adventure.

Above all, Dave cherished his roles as a father and grandfather. He took pride in his family and found great joy being a part of their lives. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Marcy (Joe) Holderman and his grandson Cameron Holderman. He also leaves behind his sister Cathy Martindale (Dave Wohlfarth), who survive him.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Belden and Ruth Martindale, and his sister Lil Chambers. Their memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Dave E. Martindale’s life was a portrait of dedication, love, and quiet joy. His passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt, but his legacy of kindness, wit, and devotion will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know him. May he rest in peace.
