Danita McPherson

Danita McPherson, 63, born on February 19, 1963 to Harold and Carol (Freeman) Peck passed on April 15, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Jim McPherson.

She is survived by her brother Kendal (Anita) Peck, nephews, Brian and Jason, niece Courtney Peck, her long time boyfriend, Dennis Whitt, honorary daughter, Maggie (Kelly) Oney, and numerous extended loved ones.

A 1981 Valley View High School graduate, Danita worked in Germantown for over 30 years as a waitress at the former Downtowner and then at Dr. Berks' office as a medical assistant. She also delivered the Dayton Daily News for 17 years, volunteered for the Germantown Rescue Squad, participated in the local talent shows and volunteered for many fundraising and local events.

Danita's high energy, genuine heart and honest personality made a huge impact on many people. She enjoyed spending her free time at Long's Retreat, hanging out with friends, and relaxing. She had a special place in her heart for children, and loved spending time with her nephews and niece. She leaves behind many close friends and loved family members and will be missed dearly.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 20, from 5-8 pm at Arpp, Root and Carter Funeral Home. Services will be held on Tuesday at 11 am at the funeral home followed by burial at Preble Memory Gardens.
