Carl J. Foust, age 100, of New Lebanon, OH passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. Carl was born on November 3, 1925, in Sharps Chapel, TN, to the late Maynard F. and Hester A. (Bolinger) Foust. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years; Ada O. (Russell) Foust; sisters Artella and Lois Foust; and brothers Ira V. and Erbin Foust. Carl is survived by his son; Ronald J. Foust and daughter Sandra A. (Patrick C.) Bir. In addition, he is survived by grandchildren, Melissa A. Bir, and Christopher C. Bir; great grandchildren, Mariah K. and Austin J. Bir.
Carl was a World War II Veteran, having served in the Pacific Theater. He attained the rank of Corporal with the 750th Field Artillery Battalion. Following his service, he worked for General Motors in Moraine for 38 ½ years, retiring in 1986. Carl was a member of the First Baptist Church of Germantown for over 64 years, where he faithfully served the Lord. He was a strong, yet gentle man, devoted to God and family, and a loving, caring husband and father. Carl will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the nurses and doctors of Miami Valley Hospital for their considerate and compassionate care of our dear father.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 1:00 pm. at the Arpp, Root & Carter Funeral Home, Germantown, OH with Pastor Carl Carmack officiating. A graveside service, with military honors will follow at Germantown Union Cemetery, Germantown, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Germantown in Carls name.
