Alvin Napier

Alvin Napier of St. Petersburg, Florida and formerly of Germantown, OH passed away on December 11, 2023. He was 81. He was born February 18, 1942 in Saul, Kentucky, the son of Clinton and Martha (Finley) Napier and was a 1961 graduate of Germantown High School. Alvin married Sue Ann Heistand on July 4, 1961 and they celebrated 55 years together until her passing on March 24, 2017. On February 17, 2018 he married Susan LaRochelle Audy, who survives him. He and Susan enjoyed five years together, jointly pursuing contract bridge masterpoints and the company of their many friends in their Americana Cove community. In addition to his parents and first wife, he was also preceded in death by his sister Dee. Alvin was a Air Force veteran, being stationed in Okinawa in the early 1960's. After many years working for Delco Products in Dayton, he and Sue Ann relocated to St. Petersburg in 1985, where he pursued a successful career as a life insurance salesman. He was a former member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Germantown, as well as Lakewood United Methodist Church and Maximo Presbyterian Church in St. Petersburg, singing in the choir at all three churches. Alvin is survived by his son Alan, granddaughters Melissa Napier, Heather Morin, and Alana Morris, and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Clinton (CB) Napier, sister Alta Kallembach and sister Jewell (Deane) Richardson. A private family committal was held at Germantown Union Cemetery on December 15, 2023, to be followed by a Memorial Service at Holy Family Catholic Church in St. Petersburg on December 18, 2023.
