A letter from Larry:
There are so many words to describe my life with you and what you meant to me, your sons, our grandchildren and the countless people you touched. It’s safe to say that all of us will never encounter another person with so much love of all people from all walks of life. There was never a person in your eyes that received anything less than 100% of your attention. The faces of children of all ages would light up when they saw “Miss Simone” either at a class at the “Y” or anywhere in public with usually big hugs as a greeting. Your AOA (Active Older Adults) class at the “Y” was yet another group that never got enough of the daughter they all wish they would have had. Your love of working with the special population children and providing aquatic therapy to the severely injured was to say the least, heartwarming examples of who you were. Your love of family never faltered after giving so much to the rest of the world. You were everything to us and always found the time to attend your children’s and grandchildren’s  events of all natures and locations, sometimes driving hours to cheer, yell, applaud and congratulate after. Win, lose or draw or squeaky bows and ill-timed wrapping on percussion, in her eyes her family were always winners.

I feel I was the most lucky person of all to know her. I saw her grow as a person in so many ways. I saw occasionally how she interacted with all the folks at the “Y”. I saw her love of our family. She was not one to beat around the bush and made sure we all walked the line and had no problem helping raise anyone’s children that came to our home, worked for her or attended one of her classes. She wrote the book on tough love but did it in such a way you thanked her afterwards and in turn was ready to hug and move on.

Simone will be missed there is no doubt. We all will shed a tear but will have so many wonderful memories and funny stories to tell that there will be tears of joy also. She made everyone around her better. She influenced us all many times without us even realizing it until hours, days, weeks later. Who and what I am today is because of the love, patience and understand she gave to me for thirty five wonderful, exciting and blessed years.

All my love to you Simone for forever and a day,

Your loving husband and friend,

Many know her as Simone but in my time with her I knew her as the only person my son trusted to be in the pool with!I knew her as "Moon"!You see Logan didn't trust just anyone and it was only Moon he would enter the water with.....he sought her out every time we entered the Y.He was only 2 years old at the time and couldn't pronounce Simone's full name and so he just called her Moon! Later I tried to teach him her full name and "Moon" nearly slapped me silly....that's who she was, that's was her name to him! Many of us at the Y adopted Logans name for Simone and to this day refer to her as only Moon! We choose to remember those we love in the light of all they meant to us and others! My family will miss her deeply and we will remember and cherish our time with Moon! Randy Paulin

My deepest sympathy to the family of Simone, words cant express how saddened I was to hear of your loss, she will be greatly missed.I knew her from the YMCA water aerobics classes. She made the classes a fun time, with laughing throughout the sessions. As she struggled with her illness she never show it to any of her classes. There will never be another Simone. My heart is with you in your time of sorrow and I wish you peace and strength during this difficult time.
