Lavonna Weinel

Lavonna McClellan. Weinel, age 71 of Germantown passed away Monday July 21, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton. Lavonne was born in Duncan Falls, Ohio to the late Andrew and Dorothea McClellan.  She was retired from L.M. Berry where she worked in customer service, and a graduate of Germantown High School Class of 1961. She is survived by her children Shari (Joe), John (Alexis) and Butch (Laura) and Joe Willie (Sarah), her pride and joys Ben, Teddy, Tasha, Brian, Samantha, Zachary, Zimmerman, Stephanie,  Zebedee and Keeth,  Great Grandchildren J.J,. Tavyn and Brody. The family will receive friends 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. Saturday August 9, 2014 at the Arpp & Root Funeral Home Germantown.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to Germantown Fire / E.M.S.in Lavonna’s memory. To Lavonna's Family, deepest sympathy for the loss of your mother. I have many fond (and funny) memories of working with Lavonna at the Florentine in the 80's. She was such a dynamic person, someone I will never forget. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Gail

Lavonna was a dear friend from my high school days at Dixie.I remember I had to go to her the night Shari was born.Our kids knew each other from John and Butch's days at Dixie.She was a great lady. May God keep you in his care during this time of your loss. Karen and Jim Grimmett

Butch, Laura, Keeth, Tasha, Brain & family, I am so sorry for your loss. It was an HONOR to know Lavonna and to be called her "Buddy". I have known her all my life, and she became my best friend for the last 7 years!!! She had the biggest heart and was the biggest Valley View Fan! Lavonna will be dearly missed. I worked with her for years at Berry and she was a hoot, always up to mischief. I tried to keep in touch with her after she left but didn't see her that oftern but when I did she always talked about her grandbabies and what they were up to. I will always remember her stories and her laugh. So sorry to the family, my prayers are with you in your time of loss.
