Gerald "Buck" Jewett
Jewett, Gerald L. "Buck", age 84 of Germantown, formerly of New Lebanon passed away peacefully on December 4, 2020. He was born in Dayton, OH to the late Wilbert and Dorothy (Bicknell) Jewett and retired from Montgomery County Communications Department. Gerald attended Horizon of Hope Church in Trotwood, OH, served as a volunteer on the New Lebanon Rescue Squad, was a softball and baseball coach for New Lebanon Schools and even won the All County Tournament. Gerald enjoyed camping, traveling, the Cleveland Browns, watching his grandkids play sports, and spending time with his friends known as the New Lebanon McDonalds Gang. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 37 years, Carole (Bailey) Jewett, his brothers Norman and Kenny Jewett, his sisters June Jewett DeHart and Eileen Jewett Waters. Gerald is survived by his daughter Kym (Rick) Wharton, son Steve (Deb) Jewett, daughter Tammy (Gary) Frizzell, grandchildren Nate Wharton, Amanda Wharton, Aaron (Vanessa) Jewett, Laura Jewett, Lindsay (Nate Beam) Jewett, Korry (Brook) Frizzel, Kade (Catie) Frizzell, Morgan Jewett,, grandchildren Amelia, Lillian & Clarity Wharton, Gus & Anna Jewett, Sammy Armstrong & Emmie Beam, Audri & Bryce Frizzell, and Kane Cook, along with numerous extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Astoria Health & Rehab or Ohio's Hospice. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, December 12, 2020 from 11:30AM-1:30PM at the Arpp, Root & Carter Funeral Home, 29 N Main St. Germantown. There will be a private graveside burial at Holp Cemetery with Pastor Ruby Harp officiating.

Jerry Buck was a second father to me and loved me like one of his own. My hearts aches for Kym, Steve, Tammy and their families but comfort is found knowing he and Carol are together once again and hes free of pain and this ugly world. Much love. Paula and Jerry
