George Goad

March 14, 1924 — March 9, 2013

George H. Goad,  age 88, of New Lebanon, OH, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  George was a loving father to sons, Steven D. (Patti), Brett R., George G., and John C. Goad; daughters, Lessia K. (David) Dilley and April K. (Randy) Brewer; loving grandfather to Nicole Goad; Ross (Kim) Goad; Clinton Goad; Marcella Cassidy, Sarah and Gretchen Kelley; and Robert Brewer; loving great-grandfather to Douglas and Lilly Goad; Aidan and Dylan Cassidy; and Jaxson Gentry; loving uncle to Greg (Pam) Heck.  Preceded in death by parents, Luther and Mabel Goad; wife, Dorothy; sons, Kirk D. and Rex M.; grandson, Kirk D. “Doug” Goad; and sister, Kathleen Heck.  He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corp and served during World War II in the Pacific theater.  He was a member of Slifers Presbyterian Church.  He was a member of Farmersville Lodge #482, served as Master, 1965; Twin Valley Chapter #240, Past High Priest; Adoniram Council #131; Valley Commandery #80; AASR, Valley of Dayton; charter member of Acacia Forest #184; OES Chapter #155, Past Patron.  He was a member of New Lebanon American Legion Post #762.  He was a Past President and current Trustee of Holp Cemetery Board.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 12th from 4-7:30 PM at Arpp and Root Funeral Home, 29 N. Main St., Germantown OH, with Masonic services immediately following viewing.  A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 13th at Slifers Presbyterian Church, 2999 S. Clayton Road, Farmersville, OH. Burial immediately following service at Holp Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Slifers Presbyterian Church, American Heart Association or any charity of choice.
