Eula Ward

Ward, Eula “Joan”, age 87 formerly of Farmersville, died peacefully at Brookhaven of Brookville on December 5, 2016.  She was born November 17, 1929 to the late Claude and Neva (Stiver) Kurtz, was a graduate of Farmersville School where she also worked as a cafeteria cook for many years.  Joan was a lifetime member of the Farmersville United Methodist Church, was a faithful servant, and loved her church family.  For many years she enjoyed playing euchre and bingo with her friends at the Farmersville Senior Center.  She was full of fun and laughter, loved making cookies and food for her family and friends, and was known as the “Cookie Queen”.  Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Gene H. Ward.  She is survived by her sons Steve (Lisa) Ward, Ed (Beth) Ward, daughter Pam (Jeff) Morneault, all of Farmersville, OH, 10 loving grandchildren, Amanda (Jason) DeGroat, Steven Ward, Clayton Ward, Houston (Karlee) Ward, Brian (Melissa) Ward, Mitch (Dawn) Ward, Jay Ward, Matt (Mirullia) Morneault, Trevin (Estefany) Morneault, and Abbie Morneault, each one held a special place in her heart.  In addition 17 beloved great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 11:00am at Farmersville United Methodist Church with Pastor Patty Matthews and Pastor Brian Thie officiating, interment immediately following at Preble Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00am.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Farmersville United Methodist Church Memorial Fund in memory of Joan.
