Dorothy Elaine Queen
Dorothy Elaine Queen (known to all as Elaine) was born on April 4, 1947 in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was the second of eleven children born to Henry and Dorothy Clausing. Elaine was a 1965 graduate of Clay High School. She was married at the age of 19 in 1966 to Richard Queen. She attended Ohio University before joining Richard in 1967 for his Army tour in Germany. After returning from Germany, Elaine and Richard had two children, Heather Queen and Eric Queen. They moved to Germantown, Ohio in 1975.
Elaine’s passion was spending time with family and friends. She was the ultimate family weekend trail rider and Valley View sports fan. Always fearless, she was willing to stand up in the stands supporting her Spartans or slide her horse down a mountain trail. No matter how hard her falls or knocks in life, she would always get back up. Her true gift was connecting with people both emotionally and spiritually. She was at ease conversing with anyone and always tried to help others. This skill made her a master shopper, negotiator, and sales woman. To Elaine, friendships were forever and every relationship was special. Elaine possessed a very generous spirit and a tender heart. Always a devout Christian, she loved Christmas and the act of giving. She just loved to help and minister to others. She was always Santa’s greatest elf with her surprises and special gifts.
She was preceded in death by her father Henry C. Clausing, mother Dorothy J. Clausing, brother James Clausing, and Richard Queen. She is survived by her two children Heather Queen (Rob Mlakar) and Eric Queen (Andrea Queen), her five sisters Carla Blevins, Sue Goldfarb (Alan), Brenda Sommer, Marsha Gulley, and Lisa Greene (Mark), and four brothers Ken Clausing (Kay), Tom Clausing (Mimi), Dan Clausing (Liz), and Paul Clausing (Bobbie), and two sisters-in-law Virginia Kellogg and Brenda Morse. She loved her three grandchildren Noah Mlakar, Wyatt Mlakar, and Sophia Queen more than life itself. Being a cherished Grandmother was her proudest accomplishment. She was also lovingly known as “Aunt Elaine” to her 29 nieces and nephews and their children: Rob Clausing, Andy Blevins, Mark Clausing, Brandon Clausing, Brittany Clausing, Aaron Goldfarb, Rachel Goldfarb, Sarah Goldfarb, Ryan Clausing, Laura Schultz, Drew Clausing, Kristen Clausing, Shawn Sommer, Scott Sommer, Jeff Gulley, Jennifer Gulley, Jessica Gulley, Becky O'Brien, Brent Clausing, Amanda Clausing, Kristy Davis, Julia Lane, Jason Greene, Austen Greene, Jane Muro, Sheri Kellogg, Karla Hyham, Stacey Hurtado, and Bryan Morse. She was a mother, grandmother, friend, and counselor to many. Her spirit will remain in our hearts forever.

What a blessing Elaine was. She was so faithful sending a little note or scripture every month when she paid her storage units. Occasionally we talk on the phone for a long time, just enjoying our conversation.. She love the Lord and her family deeply. Her death comes with mixed emotions, sad that she is not here, but happy that she is in heaven. Prayers will continue to be lifted up for the family. I'm so sorry for this loss. +++

I went to school with Elaine. She graduated in 1965 and I in 1966. Also, we were in the band together, she as a beautiful majorette. She was always smiling and seemed happy. I haven't seen her since school, but have fond memories of her and send my deepest sympathy to her family and friends.

Heather and Eric and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I know that you have had a rough couple of years. Our mothers were born on the exact same date/year! She was too young, that's for sure. Thinking of you all.
