Dewayne Spadafora

Dewayne R. Spadafora,  age 79, of Germantown passed away Friday March 1, 2013 at Kingston of Miamisburg. He was born in Fairbury Nebraska, and was employed for 26 years at the Mound Laboratory and 9 years at Fernald..  Dewayne was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife Evelyn, daughters Delinda (Bill) Rillo; Jackie (Fred) Guntle; Denise (Mike) Minge and Alice Pau; brother Marvin Spadafora; sisters Betty Schreek and Marjorie Delany, 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. In his earlier years he was very active with the Farmersville United Church of Christ where is served as Elder.  Dewayne was a veteran on the U.S. Navy. He loved working at Mound and enjoyed all his fellow co workers. Dewayne enjoyed hunting with his sons in law Mike and Fred, grandsons Mike and Greg. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m Tuesday at the Farmersville U.C.C.  42  S.  Broadway St., Farmersville, Pastor Susan Hartman officiating, Burial Holp Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10:00 -11:00 a.m. (1 hr. prior to service) Tuesday at the Church. The family would like to thank Kinston Nursing Home and Crossroads Hospice for all the kindness shown Dewayne. He will be missed by all. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice or Disabled Veterans. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.arpprootfh.com.

I am so sorry for your loss. He was always like a second father to me and was the kindest person I have ever known. I still remember when mom died and he drove me to the airport to send go home. He wouldn't let me get on the plane till he bought me a meal and made sure I wasn't leaving hungry. This was alway typical of Mr. and Mrs. Spadafora they always watch out for us "kids" and was always there with a listening ear. Thank You so much for sharing him with all of us kids that stayed at your house. I loved all of you and always will. Sharon

Evelyn & Family, You have our deepest sympathy at DeWayne's passing.When we saw you recently you mentioned to us about his health.We will be keeping you and the family in our prayers.He was a co-worker with Bernie at the Mound and we have many memories thru the years while living in Farmersville.May knowing that God will bring you comfort as you go thru this stage in life. I knew Dewayne for years.We helped the Scouts together, we hunted together, we helped each other on home projects and as we aged and health began to fail we helped each other care for family.I was proud to call him a friend.He was a good man and he will be missed.
